Article 1
Your 14-day cancellation right (consumers)
If you are a consumer and you purchase a service from us at a distance, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of the day the contract is made, without giving a reason, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. To cancel, email office@globallawyer.house within the 14-day period stating your matter reference.
Article 2
Early start of the service
If you expressly request that we begin the service during the 14-day period and the service is then fully performed, you lose the right to cancel. If you cancel after performance has begun but before completion, you will pay a proportionate amount for what has already been carried out. Refunds are made using the same payment method within 14 days of a valid cancellation. This right applies in addition to, and prevails over, any shorter cancellation window stated elsewhere. Business clients: separate terms apply as set out in the engagement.
Article 3
Consultations
For consultations booked outside the 14-day cooling-off window (or after you have expressly waived it), fees paid in advance are refundable up to twenty-four hours before the scheduled slot. Within twenty-four hours the fee is retained to cover the reserved professional time, unless we agree to reschedule.
Article 4
Initial reviews
For barristers instructed under Public or Licensed Access, payment of the initial review fee does not constitute acceptance of instructions. If the barrister declines instructions in writing, the fee is refunded in full, less any bank charges applied by the payment provider.
Article 5
Regulated engagements
Where a regulated engagement has commenced under a signed engagement letter, refunds are governed by that letter and the applicable professional rules.
Article 6
How to request a refund
Refund requests should be sent to office@globallawyer.house with the matter reference. We aim to process eligible refunds within ten working days of confirmation.
