Article 1
Your 14-day cancellation right (consumers)
If you are a consumer and you purchase a service from us at a distance, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of the day the contract is made, without giving a reason, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. To cancel, email office@globallawyer.house within the 14-day period stating your matter reference.
Article 2
Early start of the service
If you expressly request that we begin the service during the 14-day period and the service is then fully performed, you lose the right to cancel. If you cancel after performance has begun but before completion, you will pay a proportionate amount for what has already been carried out. Refunds are made using the same payment method within 14 days of a valid cancellation. This right applies in addition to, and prevails over, any shorter cancellation window stated elsewhere. Business clients: separate terms apply as set out in the engagement.
Article 3
Consultations
For consultations booked outside the 14-day cooling-off period, or after a valid request for early performance, advance fees are refundable up to twenty-four hours before the scheduled slot. Within twenty-four hours, the applicable professional's cancellation terms may cover reserved professional time. This does not reduce any mandatory consumer right.
Article 4
Platform and professional fees
A platform intake or coordination fee is separate from any fee charged by an authorised professional. Professional fees and any refund terms are confirmed in the professional's separate engagement letter. Paying through the platform does not itself create a professional-client engagement.
Article 5
Initial reviews and professional engagements
Payment for an initial review does not constitute acceptance of instructions. If a professional declines the engagement in writing, the applicable unearned professional fee is refunded subject to mandatory law and any clearly disclosed payment-provider charge. Once a separate regulated engagement begins, its refund terms are governed by the engagement letter, applicable professional rules and mandatory consumer law.
Article 6
How to request a refund
Send refund requests to office@globallawyer.house with your matter reference. Eligible refunds are returned using the original payment method within 14 days of a valid cancellation or confirmation that a refund is due, unless mandatory law requires an earlier date.
